For software agencies

Connect the tickets, the hours and the client's invoice

Your developers move cards on a board, log their hours against those same cards and talk the work through in a thread beside them. At the month end the approved hours become the client's invoice, so nobody rebuilds the month from three tools.

Thirty days, every feature, no credit card required. Managers, administrators and finance never cost a cent.

Three people or fewer? Start on Free, with no trial clock.

A project's board: cards in Backlog, In progress, In review and Done, each showing the hours logged against its estimate and who is on it.

How it works

One feature, from the ticket to the invoice

  1. 1Plan

    Checkout API12.5 h

The Checkout API card goes on the client's board with its estimate, or comes in from Jira with the rest of the sprint.

  2. 2Collaborate

    PK
    Pat Kim Guest

Can the new checkout go live before our October billing run?

The client asks about the go-live date in a thread shared with them, and the answer stays beside the work.

  3. 3Track

    PRNorthwind / Build31.0 h

The developer logs the hours against the card from the week sheet, and the card shows how much of its estimate is used.

  4. 4Approve

    PRPriya RamanApprove

Their manager approves the filing, and the approved hours are locked against later edits.

  5. 5Bill

    NOR-2026-0013Draft$13,440

The client's invoice is drafted from the approved, billable hours, priced at your rate card.

Why Clock Clerk

Built for teams that ship client work

Keep your tracker

Import tasks from Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello or Notion and pick the items to bring over. It is an import, not a sync: nothing is written back to your tracker.

Estimates you can see

Each card shows the hours logged against its estimate, so an overrun shows while there is still time to talk to the client about it.

Fixed fee or time and materials

Bill by the hour at your rate card, or follow a fixed-fee project's hours and cost to see whether it paid.

Pricing

You pay for the people who log time, not the people who manage them

Most time trackers charge a seat for everyone who signs in, including the managers who approve and the administrators who run it, and the approvals and reports those managers need often sit on a higher plan that raises the price of every seat. Clock Clerk charges only for the people who log hours that month. Everyone who reviews, approves, administers or reads the reports is free, on every plan.

A typical per-seat time tracker
  • Someone who logs timeA seat
  • A manager who approves itA seat, and approvals often need a higher plan
  • An administratorA seat
  • Finance, reading reportsA seat
  • Someone on leave all monthA seat
Clock Clerk
  • Someone who logs time$3–$6 / month, or $0 on Free
  • A manager who approves it$0
  • An administrator$0
  • Finance, reading reports$0
  • Someone on leave all month$0

A manager who also logs hours counts once, at the same price as everyone else. There is no manager seat and no admin seat.

Questions

Asked before they switch

Does the board replace Jira or Trello?

It can. Where the engineers stay in Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps or Notion, link the project to it instead and import their items as cards, so the hours are still logged against the work they track.

Does it have a timer?

No. Hours are typed against a day, which is what a client is invoiced for and what a reviewer can sign off. Most people log each day as they go, in the day view, stepping a task up a quarter-hour or adding an hour in one click; a whole week typed at once takes under two minutes.

Can our clients join the conversation?

Yes, on any paid plan. Share a thread on a project and invite your client's people by email. They sign in from the link and see only the threads they were invited into, never your cards, hours or other threads, and they are not charged.
