Screens

Home

The page you land on after signing in, whatever your role. A search across the top takes you to any page or report, and the columns under it show what is waiting for you: your own time, the boards you work on, the approvals or the money that are yours to deal with, and the pages you opened last.

Who sees it

Everyone who signs in to the organization. It is the app's own address (app.clockclerk.com) and Home at the top of the menu, above the groups. Signing in lands here, unless you followed a link to another page, and so do finishing the setup wizard and an address the app does not know. My Week has an address of its own, /week, which still opens the current week, so a bookmark to it keeps working. Client guests do not have Home; they have their own screens.

The page is headed Let's get to work. Under the search, three columns sit side by side on a wide window and one under another on a narrow one. Each column's heading, marked ›, opens the screen it comes from, and each row in it opens the thing it names. A column that could not be read says Couldn't load this. Reload the page to try again. and the rest of the page carries on.

The wide field reading Search pages and reports is not a search of its own: choosing it opens Jump to, the same list of every page, sub-page and report you can open that Jump to… at the top of the menu opens. Type part of a name and press Enter, or Esc to close it and come back to the field. The field shows its shortcut, Ctrl + K (⌘ + K on a Mac), which opens Jump to from any screen (see Keyboard shortcuts). Jump to only lists what your role and your plan let you open.

What each role sees

The first two columns depend on your role, and for Finance and administrators on what your plan includes (see Pricing). The third is always Recents. Whoever approves time also files their own, so Managers, Finance users and administrators get a line above the columns, My week:, with this week's hours against the target and its status, for example My week: 32 / 40 h · Draft ›. It opens the week.

A contractor who is a Manager, Finance user or administrator sees their role's columns, and no My week line, because they file by the month: My Month is in their menu.

The columns

My week

For everyone who files time by the week. This week shows the week's status, Draft, Submitted, Approved or Sent back, and its hours against your target, for example 32 / 40 h. The target is the one My Week shows. Under it, Earlier weeks still open lists, oldest first, any of the eight weeks before this one that you still owe: not yet submitted, or sent back to you. Weeks before you joined are not listed. Each row opens its week.

On a week with nothing logged and nothing earlier owed, the column says Log time this week instead, and opens the week.

My month

For a contractor, in place of My week. This month shows where the month stands, in My Month's words (Not started, Draft, Returned, Awaiting sign-off and so on), and the hours recorded in it. Earlier months still open lists, oldest first, any of the six months before it that are still yours to submit. Each row opens its month.

Boards

The boards of the projects you are on, each with its client and how many messages you have not read in its conversations, the card comments included. Projects with something unread come first, then the rest by client and name. Up to six are listed; See all opens Boards. With no projects yet, it says No projects yet. Your conversations are in Messages. and opens Messages. While an administrator has Boards turned off, this column is not shown.

Approvals

For whoever approves time. The weeks of the last eight with something waiting for you, newest first, each with how many are to review and how many are not filed. The current week is called This week. Each row opens that week on Approvals. With nothing waiting, it says Nothing waiting on you.

Team

For Managers. Under Not submitted this week, the people whose weeks you review who have not submitted this week, including anyone whose week was sent back. Someone invited who has never signed in is marked Not signed in yet. Up to six are listed; each opens their week on Team, and See all opens the whole team. When everyone has, it says Everyone has submitted.

This can name more people than the Approvals column counts as not filed: Approvals counts the weeks to chase, and leaves out a week already sent back and anyone who has not signed in yet.

Invoices

For Finance and administrators on a plan with invoicing. Up to three rows in each of:

Each invoice opens on Invoices, and See all opens the rest. With none of the three, it says Nothing to bill or chase.

Payables

What the organization owes its own people, for Finance and administrators.

The heading opens Contractors, or Reimbursements on a plan without contractors. With nothing waiting, it says Nothing waiting to be paid.

Organization

For an administrator on Free or Starter, whose plan has neither invoicing nor contractors. People, with how many people are in the organization and how many of them are not signed in yet, opens People. The heading opens the Organization tab.

Recents

The last few places you went, newest first: the same list as Recents at the top of the menu, and as Jump to offers before you type. Each is written as where it sits and then its name, for example Invoices / Unbilled time or Acme Ltd / Projects / Website relaunch; a project, client, invoice, person, board, conversation or contractor's month is listed by its own name. Opening a place again moves it to the top rather than listing it twice, and a week or a month is one place, My Week, which opens on the current one. Home itself, signing in and the setup wizard never appear. A page you can no longer open, because your role or your plan changed, drops out.

Recents is kept in this browser, for you alone: someone else signing in on the same computer has their own, signing out clears it, and another browser or device starts empty. Until you open something, the column says Pages you open show up here. Search above to find one.

The ⋯ beside the heading has Clear recents, which empties your list, here and in the menu, and nobody else's.
